The NAHL uses the FHL simulator to simulate league games. The season is divided into 3 parts: the regular season, which should take about 4 months, the playoffs, which should take about a month and the offseason which usually lasts a month but can be extended or shortened by the commissioner. A full season takes about 6 months, so a full calendar year should cover 2 full seasons. Each team plays 82 regular season games, including 7 against every division rival, 4 agains other conference rivals and 3 against teams from the opposite conference. A total of 16 teams make the playoffs. A team must win 4 best-of-7 rounds in order to win the championship.
One day of season games is simmed per night at 7 PM EST, unless notified by the commissioner. Teams will be asked to have their lines in by that time in order for them to be inputted for games of that night. Each team will need the GM Editor in order to make lines files that can be easily inputted into the simulator for that night's games. When a team has an injury and the GM does not send in new lines accordingly, the commissioner will make the simulator "auto" that team's lines, which means that the simulator will decide the best lineup possible for that night. A GM may choose to have his lines autoed.
